Capital will flock to the brain-computer interface field


According to data, the domestic brain-computer field completed 26 rounds of financing with a total scale of 1.778 billion yuan in 2025. Since 2026, the financing enthusiasm within the industry has not diminished, with numerous companies such as Xiangyu Medical and Xinsheng Vision having issued financing announcements.

On June 19th, Xiangyu Medical issued an announcement stating its intention to issue shares to no more than 35 specific investors, with the issuance scale not exceeding 30% of the total share capital. The upper limit of the total fundraising amount is RMB 1.366 billion, all of which will be invested in the innovative research and development of high-end rehabilitation equipment, supplemented by working capital for the main business. The overall construction period of the project is 5 years.

It is understood that Xiangyu Medical has been engaged in the research and development of brain-computer interfaces since 2015. As of June 2026, two types of electroencephalogram (EEG) acquisition devices have obtained medical device registration certificates, and four new non-invasive EEG evoked device registration certificates were added in May this year. The entire chain of independent research and development has been achieved for the complete machine, dedicated chips, core algorithms, and electrode accessories. The relevant products have covered more than 800 top-tier hospitals nationwide. The channel expansion goal for 2026 is to reach over a thousand medical institutions, with a clear pace of commercialization.

On June 17th, Xingsheng Vision, a company specializing in the research and development of invasive brain-computer interfaces, announced the completion of a seed round financing of nearly 100 million RMB. This round of financing was led by Matrix Partners China, with follow-on investments from Yanyuan Fund, Shuimu Venture Capital, and Xinglian Capital (Z Fund).

Innovative Vision, incubated by the multidisciplinary Brain-Computer Interface research team from Peking University and ShanghaiTech University, focuses on the research and development of high-precision neural signal acquisition and closed-loop regulation technology, aiming to promote clinical treatment breakthroughs for severe neurological disorders. The funds raised in this round will be used to develop an invasive visual cortical prosthesis (VCP), fully promote the independent research and development of 10,000-channel high-precision neural stimulation chips, develop visual reconstruction algorithms and integrated fully implantable brain-computer systems, conduct preclinical verification, and expand the core engineering team.

On June 9th, the status of IPO counseling for Borui Kang was changed to "counseling work completed"; on June 11th, the company submitted IPO application materials, and the listing application was officially accepted. According to the prospectus, the proposed financing amount for this IPO is 2.5 billion yuan. Among this amount, 1.54 billion yuan will be used for the research and development of brain-computer interfaces, 410 million yuan for the industrialization construction project of brain-computer interfaces, and 550 million yuan for supplementing working capital.

According to the data, Borui Kang, with "brain-computer interface" technology as its core, specializes in the research, development, production, and sales of brain-computer interface related products. Currently, it has established certain technical barriers in core technological aspects such as weak neural signal acquisition, signal analysis, and closed-loop feedback. In the invasive field, Borui Kang's NEO-ONE SCI (implantable brain-computer interface hand motor function compensation system) was approved for marketing by the National Medical Products Administration in March this year, for patients aged 18 to 60 who suffer from quadriplegia and are unable to complete grasping movements due to cervical spinal cord injury.

In June, Neuralicorn completed tens of millions of yuan in angel+ round financing. Incubated and established by Westlake University, Neuralicorn specializes in the research and development of brain-computer interface chips, systems, and intelligent decoding technologies. In the field of chips, the company has developed comprehensive capabilities ranging from chip design, system integration, to algorithm development, and has made strategic layouts focusing on high-throughput brain-computer interface chips, implantable brain-computer systems, and neural regulation technologies.

The funds from this round of financing will primarily be used for the research, development, iteration, and industrialization of brain-computer interface chips and Chinese language decoding technology, accelerating the transition of key technological achievements from the laboratory to clinical application scenarios.

According to incomplete statistics, since 2026, there have been at least 30 financing events in the domestic brain-computer interface (BCI) field, with a total financing amount exceeding 5 billion yuan. The industry believes that the current financing boom is a concentrated reflection of the turning point in the BCI industry, moving from "concept verification" to "industrialization implementation". In the future, whoever can take the lead in completing product verification, implementing business models, and building a full-chain ecosystem is expected to gain an advantage in the competition for this future industry.
